Walking in
circles
It may be because I have spent so much of my life working with film -that most classically virtual of media- but I am fascinated by the image that has a physicality, even an extra dimension. Over the years I I have been conducting experiments with ways of taking space and, hopefully, creating a certain physical presence.
I was grateful for the way that the Eighthwonder show, at 44AD in Bath, enabled me to set up two integrated works in two adjacent rooms. This created the potential for the viewer to establish a silent dialogue between the images of each piece. The potential dialogue was enriched by the fact that the viewer was invited to take a circular walk around each set of images and between the two integrated works.
